What settings are configured for our organization during registration?

When you start using Waffy, the Business Development team configures six settings at the organization level. These settings automatically apply to every contract you process and cannot be overridden through an API request. Any attempt to override them is automatically rejected, as these settings relate to your organization’s compliance requirements or commercial terms and should not be changed on a transaction-by-transaction basis by a developer.

The six settings and their default values are:

  • Invitation (disabled by default): Determines whether the parties must accept an invitation to join the contract through the Waffy app before payment, or whether they are added automatically. Automatic enrollment is generally preferred by organizations that work with regular, trusted customers, while invitations are more suitable for one-time sales.
  • Delivery (enabled by default): Determines whether the contract includes a separate delivery confirmation stage. It can be disabled for organizations that do not involve physical delivery, such as digital goods or services completed immediately. In this case, the contract moves directly from payment to settlement.
  • Inspection (disabled by default): Determines whether the contract includes an inspection period after delivery, during which the buyer can inspect the item before requesting settlement. This is particularly useful for high-value goods.
  • Absher identity verification (disabled by default): Determines whether buyers are required to verify their Saudi national identity through Absher before payment. Your organization can choose whether this is mandatory or optional, which can be particularly important when identity verification is a regulatory or business requirement.
  • Allowed payment methods (based on the agreement): Determines which of the following payment methods are enabled for your organization: Mada, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, STC Pay, Tabby, Tamara, New, and manual bank transfer.Deferred payment methods (Tabby, Tamara, and New) require a separate agreement outside the standard registration process.
  • Waffy fees for each payment method (based on the agreed pricing): Determines the fee for each payment method separately. These fees are agreed upon once during registration and deducted from the value of each transaction.

How can we change these settings after registration?

Because these settings are tied to organization-wide commercial terms and compliance requirements, they cannot be changed through the API or by your development team. To update any of these settings, contact your Waffy account manager directly.
