The appropriate model for your organization is determined once as part of the agreement during registration. Waffy holds the amount for each transaction in an escrow account until your organization decides how to distribute it by submitting a settlement request. The models differ only in how the amount is distributed at that stage:
- Direct sale: Your organization is the seller, so the full amount is paid to your organization.
- Simple escrow: Waffy acts as a neutral intermediary between two independent parties. The full amount is paid to the seller, with no commission retained by your organization.
- Marketplace: The seller receives their share, while your organization retains a commission from the amount.
- Multi-party: The transaction involves multiple buyers or sellers, and the amount is distributed among them.
- Milestone-based project: A large transaction is divided into several key stages. Each stage can use any of the four models above, depending on its nature.
